Log Repair

Repairing Rot Damage in Your Log Home

Some damaged logs can be repaired by inject epoxy products that reconstitute rotted wood fibers, especially if the damage is close to the surface and not structurally significant. Rotted log ends can sometimes be repaired by using epoxy fillers and impel rods. When a rotting is bad enough even these steps are not sufficient to repair a log, the best solution is partial or full log replacement.

Chinking

There are many different styles of log homes but not all require chinking. However, there are many dovetail style and larger round log homes that do use chinking as a sealant.
